Monday's run was quite adventurous. Dark, a bone chilling 2 degrees, and lack of running made me plod along at a VERY slow rate. I was able to finish my two mile run without issues, other than my speed.
Wednesday's run was considerably warmer almost balmy, 22 degrees, and slightly better running conditions. The cold, the roads were in far better condition than Monday morning had greeted me.
Saturday too was an adventurous run. This lovely State of Utah was met with a MASSIVE snow storm, which started Thursday afternoon and continued until Saturday morning, with anywhere between eight to 20 inches of snow slamming the Wasatch front.
With snow still being on the roads, every step taken was one of uncertainty, almost a gamble. Nevertheless, I was able to walk away from the run without incident. This next weeks training will continue to be much of the same. Extremely cold temperatures, icy roads and a lot of dark mornings. I can't wait for some warmer temperatures where I am able to run a little more comfortable. Single digit temps are not what I would consider the most ideal running temps.
I have attached to this blog a video of my running adventures during this past week for your entertainment. I have also included my embarrassing
stats for the week as well.
What a great first video! I have to say your creativity and video making skills have taken a giant leap forward since last season! I don't just think it was the camera either. Keep those babies coming! As for me I recorded about 10 minutes of footage and realized by the end of the run my SD card was full. So I ended up with about a minute of footage. I will still throw something together though! Great job on a nice vid and don't worry about your pace it will bound back in a hurry!
ReplyDeleteThanks, I felt it was a fairly creative video, especially for me who lacks creativity. I hope the speed does return soon, I am scared.
