Another productive week of training is in the bag! I can't believe how fast the time is going and the progression in my training is now becoming quite evident!
The week started with an easy three miles. Another early wake up call, and another three miles completed in the dark, no biggie I say ( I have to convince myself of such things).
Wednesday I was able to leave work a little early, and go to the nearby park, which also has a running path around the outside. Gratefully, on this day, I was able to do some interval/speed work for just my second time this year. This run gave me the most confirmation yet things are progressing nicely and as hoped for.
Saturday was the highlight of the week. I was FINALLY able to get my first trail run of the year in. Though the snow levels are still fairly low, I was able to truck onto the Bonneville Shoreline Trail and run an amazing 6 miles. During this run I encountered quite possibly every type of terrain imaginable, from dusty and muddy to even snowy trails, and I had a GREAT time doing it as well. A more detailed report will be coming in the very near future.
Another great week down, the ascension into turning into a decent runner again is just over the horizon. If I can continue to stay injury free, continue to hit my times during my speed workouts, there is a great chance I will have many opportunities to make my times plummet in the various distances and events I want to participate in this year. Let's hope all goes well.
Week 10 has come and gone and we are plugging away at a great training year. Neither of us have hardly missed a run and we have ran fast earlier than usual and both of us are now running hills and terrain. Another 8-10 weeks of this and we are going to be really moving along. Great weekly training recap!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe we have been going for ten weeks now! PRETTY crazy! The training is definitely coming along nicely, which should put us in a good position to accomplish our epic run this summer.
